Hallmarking & identification
Stamped 585 (EU) or 14K/14ct (US/UK). The most common fine jewellery karat in North America. Not considered fine gold in some European markets.
Care & maintenance
More durable than 18k due to harder alloy. Clean regularly with mild soap and water. Safe for most activities with common sense.
Market & pricing
Significantly less expensive than 18k gold at equivalent weight. Popular price-to-quality balance for everyday wear pieces.
