10x Loupe

How to use it

1. Hold the loupe close to your eye, not the stone
2. Bring the stone up slowly toward the loupe until sharp focus is reached
3. Use a fiber optic or daylight-balanced LED from the side
4. Examine through the table facet first, then the pavilion
5. Rotate the stone to see all angles and orientations
6. Check for doubling of back facet edges (sign of birefringence)
7. Look for color zoning, growth lines, inclusions, surface damage
